兆明不滿大總管秀瓊在廠內獨攬大權，而且經常包庇屢屢犯錯的員工涂威龍（林嘉華飾），誓要將她趕出公司。另一邊廂，秀瓊一向奉行老派管理方式，也不滿兆明改革制度令人情味消失，更認定兆明只是一位懂拍馬屁而實力欠奉的「刷鞋仔」，於是聯同威龍對抗兆明與竇彰，形成兩大陣型。
豆品廠冤家變親家
兆明偶遇兒時邂逅過的玩伴司徒嵐（湯洛雯飾），二人迅速由傾訴對象發展成為情侶，兆明卻不知道嵐的母親正是秀瓊！嵐及後終於得知兆明與秀瓊的敵對關係，但鑑於身分特殊，唯有「好女兩頭瞞」，處處隱瞞箇中關係。秀瓊最終發現女兒跟兆明相戀，棒打鴛鴦。嵐故作為情所困患上抑鬱症，還趁着秀瓊態度軟化，決定和兆明閃婚！
眼見女兒婚姻已成定局，秀瓊只好與兆明約法三章宣佈停戰。但隨着二人相處時間增加，工作與生活上難免出現磨擦，新一輪戰事可謂一觸即發。
豆品廠司機涂威龍行事出人意表，經常遲到早退。兆明雷厲風行改革，打算將形象亦正亦邪的威龍裁汰。秀瓊卻欣賞威龍重情重義，多年來對外母侍奉至孝，誓死將他保住。
互扭六壬笑料百出
豆品廠引入外資的關係，兆明經常與日資公司項目經理兼前女友紀曉盈（姚子羚飾）見面，令秀瓊誤會二人愛火重燃，於是追蹤兆明務求找到其出軌證據。兆明對此亦煩不勝煩，試圖撮合秀瓊與竇彰的父親傅德正（威利飾），結果鬧出連番笑話。
鼎福和與日資公司合作，威龍於偶然下認識曉盈。二人初時誤會重重，但當曉盈了解到威龍不為人知的故事後，即對他大為改觀，雙方還漸漸萌生情愫。眼見威龍不善理財，曉盈還會強制威龍儲蓄，期望他能早日東山再起。
外母女婿再起爭端
司徒嵐傳來懷孕喜訊，一度緩和了秀瓊與兆明的鬥爭。可是好景不常，兆明竟與德正聯手，把鼎福和賣盤給日資公司。秀瓊得到豆品廠上一代掌門人竇璞玉遺下的股份，欲以股東身分反對賣盤。然而，德正卻與曉盈合謀借兆明之手，取得竇彰的股權，最終成功併吞鼎福和。
百年豆品老字號易主，嵐誤會兆明出賣母親，激動之下幾乎流產！威龍亦不忿曉盈所為，毅然提出分手。兆明積極修補與嵐的破裂關係，同時又揭開了司徒家一個不為人知的秘密，更將他與外母的關係推向決裂邊緣
